Once a. year Larrivee
had been running a special on the 40 Series with a Mahogany Top, Pyramid
Bridge and Full Vintage Sunburst. After a production wait they finally get to
our stores and sell right away, but then there are no more available. So
Larrivee decided to make this a stock model in March of 2021 and this 00 just
arrived.
All Mahogany, with a
pyramid bridge and a stunning Vintage Burst finish.
With its understated satin finish and modest
adornments, the Larrivée 00-40R doesn’t make a strong first impression. But
strum an open E chord, and you’re immediately struck by its uncommonly good
sound—so lively and responsive, with impressive sustain and projection.
The 40 Series features "Scalloped
Parabolic Hybrid" bracing system design.
Based on Larrivee’s and true
"X-Brace" design, Jean blended a non-symmetrical scalloped lateral
cross-bracing pattern. This means maximum strength using the least amount of
material. It's a build that allows even further vibration of the soundboard,
while still offering a controlled bass response. The 40 Series are built in
America using all solid wood, like all Larrivée's, and feature brand new
upgrades like bone bridge pins, nut and saddle, diamond fingerboard dots and
18:1 open back tuners.
