Eastman has hit a home run with the
redesigned AC622CE.
Adopting exciting, forward-thinking
design improvements, the new AC Series acoustics stand out like never before.
Further refinements to the already future-forward line have taken comfort,
functionality, and elegance to the next level.
A sound port is now standard on the
AC622CE. The carefully contoured opening directs a portion of the acoustic
volume upwards towards the player, acting as a stand-in personal monitor.
Additionally, ergonomic design is furthered with the inclusion of a chamfered
edge that provides maximum comfort and enhances the playing experience.
The Eastman AC622CE is a Grand Auditorium
cutaway and features a solid European Spruce Top, stunning Flamed Maple back
and sides and Fishman Element EAS VTC electronics. There is the sound of Maple,
and there is the sound of Eastman Maple, like no other.
This guitar also features the Tone-Tite neck
system designed by Dana Bourgeois.
This System offers three main benefits:
Efficient
tonal transfer: A guitars efficiency is measured by how much of the
strings resonance is transmitted to
the bridge.
As
acoustic guitar builders we strive to build instruments that utilize as much of
the string movement as possible.
The strings oscillation is
mechanical energy. This energy flows through the neck and body, ultimately
transmitting to the saddle, bridge and soundboard creating sound waves.
The Tone-tite neck joint
mechanically fastens the neck to the body creating a perfect conduit for neck
resonance to transfer to the body.
Dual
Acting Truss Rod:
For decades single acting truss rods or (Compression rods)
were used in guitars. These truss rods are capable of only removing
relief from a bowed neck. With the adoption of a dual acting truss rod, you are
able to remove relief as well as add relief into a neck. Why would you add more
relief you ask? Because wood moves, it shrinks and expands due to humidity. The
fingerboard and neck are susceptible to bowing/back-bowing due to climate
changes. A dual acting truss rod is the best method for dialing in the right
amount of neck relief ensuring a perfect setup.
Easy Maintenance:
With advances in guitar building we are able to deliver
instruments that not only play great now, but will perform perfectly for many
years. In the need of routine maintenance it is easy to tweak the rod dialing
in the correct amount of relief to complete the setup. For more intensive
repair, The Tone-tite neck system allows the neck to be completely removed
without damaging or altering the body. This allows a skilled luthier to
slightly change the angle of the neck. This happens after many years of
constant pulling from the strings, which eventually bend the body lowering the
string projection. After some small adjustments to the heel, the neck it can be
reattached and secured. When that time comes, resetting the neck and raising
the neck projection you gain a higher saddle, lower action and greater acoustic
volume
